05 s works fsr 120 stumpy rear triangle

recently had a bad crash and dented the rear seat stay. As i live in Australia we are treated like lepers when it comes to high in gear in a timely manner. The way i seee it i have 3 choices

1 change rear seat stay if any available, must be s works ie m5 alloy, to match frame.
2 change rear triangle if poss to 06 s works ,ie carbon fibre, but are they compatable and would i have to change the septune as well to a brain
3 buy 06 frame, not available in australia till December at the earliest and only a handful will land here.

If i can get gear qiucker fromthe States I will look at that option.
Any suggestions as surely specialised reps must read this site. If it cant be done quickly i will probably look at changing over my running gear to a Santa Cruz Blur LT.

    use any 120mm rear

If I am not mistaken, you should be able to use the rear triangle off of any 05-06 120mm stumpy. The 05 s-works stumpy ONLY has an M5 downtube, the rear triangle is M4 like the rest of the stumpy line. The new carbon 06 frame has an M5 rear triangle, not carbon.

    thanks mate.
heres an update. i have contacted 4 different shops, all s works dealers , and they have told me the following. Specialised do not have any rear triangles/ and or seatstays as spare parts for stumpjumpers in australia, for any of the models. They will not ship any in to the country. The shops have offered to sell me an entire frame to take the triangle and then advise me to sell the rest of the fame on e bay.
I mean this is a 6 month old bike. Im not looking for warranty replacement for the triangle , i am just after a spare part which i am willing to pay for

This bike is worth about $8000 usd. It has full xtr , mavic 819 with swiss dt hubs, fsa carbon k force cranks, candy triple Ti pedals, FSA headset and stem, aeston carbon bars and seat post and a gobi saddle. It is very well looked after.

A local shop wants to get a team together for enduro and has offered to change all the running gear over to a Santa Cruz frame. I am going to do this is Specialised dont come to the party in some way. If i do this i will take my S works frame along with me advising people of the pitfalls. I have hundreds of people at races saying it is one of the nicest bikes theyve seen. What a pity Specialised down here dont care. If any specialised dealers or reps pick this up in the states please help as i really love my bike, and its only 6 months old. If you can get me an 06 frame please help. I have been advised yesterday 06 frames will not be here until feb/march 06 if at all.

    Thanks

somebody has got to be shitting you! did these shops ring avanti oz (spesh distributor in oz) and find out direct from them? i investigated replacing the rear triangle for my 03 stumpy a few months ago and the shop rang avanti and they quoted a price (it was gonna be stupid expensive, but they could get them). i cannot understand how they could get 03 (the last model before they changed the stumpy design so old stuffnow) rear trianges and could not get an 05 one for you. even if all the 05 full bikes are sold now, they should still have, or be able to get, parts - what if it was a warranty issue, what would they do then?

u obviously love your bike, as i do mine, but i'm really starting to think the specialised distributor in australia is pretty poor - when you spend that kind of money on a mountain bike, they should be falling over themselves to keep you happy

How about buying an Intense 5.5 or 6.6 frame and building it with your Specialized parts? I think the geometry on the new Specialized FSRs has changed so an )^ rear triangle may not work.

just come back from the bike shop, they nearly fell over when i told them of specialised's answer to my problem. I was looking at Santa Cruz forum and a guy had the same problem as me. Only it appears with Santa Cruz it is not a problem. They have a crash replacement policy on their product. It appears the big red S does not operate like that. As i said this is their top of the line product, less than six months old, and i cannot obtain a replacement triange in Australia. I live in Sydney and have even called Melbourne and received the same answer. What is dissapointing is i had my name down on a list for an 06 s works.Could someone please pass this onto specialised hq in the states or advise me how to contact them, as i said i have a top shelf product and not a $200 throw away piece of crap.

The trouble is in Australia the market for high end bikes is limited and as such there are only a hand full of shops serving this market. In the end once they get your dolars they dont give a ****.

can any shops in the states give me costings on an 06 s works frame include air freightto sydney.

I dont mind spending the dollars if i can get the service. My other bike is a 05 Santa Cruz vp free ,sram xo, 888 front end, fsa bars stem cranks and my road is a opera leonardo with full dura ace. You spend the money and you expect service as well as product in return..........do you understand specialised.

Go direct to Specialized USA. email customerservice@specialized.com.

I can't believe there is nothing available. I work in an Australian Avanti/Specialized shop so I know that we don't get everything here, but there must surely be spare triangles in the US and I would have thought Avanti could get one from the US for you. I have had trouble getting information about what my 06 Sj Pro remote brain is supposed to do because no-one in Australia, not even the Fox service centre at Dirtworks, know anything about it. I am currently pursuing Avanti NZ and the email address at Specialized I gave at the top.

I have had feedback from this email before so you should get a response - just give it a few days. If you sound slightly pissed they generally take notice.

I love Specialized and will probably always have one, but recently it seems that they (whether it's just Australia or not I don't know) have dropped the ball a bit. Disappointing from usually a great brand.

Let me know how you go with the email, and if you get nothing then ask your local Specialized dealer to give you Avanti's phone number. Failing that I'll ring them. It certainly is a bit of a joke.

Perhaps change the thread title to include Jake Wake's name, get his attention.

    thanks for the help mate

i called the 1300 number yesterday (monday) after the shop i got the bike from advised me yet again nothing could be done until Jan at least. Hopefully something will now be done. Spec (aust) advised me the will try and source from NZ and the States....I still dont have a great deal of faith though. I was advised by the shop I got the bike from they will call me back on Friday. If they dont call me by lunch I wil call them, and if i have to start things rolling i will email the states. Its a shame it took a call from me to spec/avanti to start getting peoples attention. They were not going to act with just my bike shops feedback.

I was down at a local shop looking at a cannondle rush yesterday. If you get past the lefty it is a beautiful bike. In saying that, they get a fantastic review and the lefty is suppose to be fantastic. He, like the Santa Cruz dealer could not understand the delays. He reckons if you spent those sort of dollars with cannndale they would be bending over backwards to help, and at the very least get you a loan bike to use . However, I really love my stumpy and i really hope Spec lift their game.

I was also told we will not be seeing 06 s works s/j until march 06, is this the same for epics and how about in the states, . From reading this site i was under the impression some 06 stock was already on the floor
