I have a '04 Stumpjumper FSR (4" Triad/4" RLC) which I bought for trail rding, raced 12 yrs on Superlight & will race this year year on a tricked out '08 Epic. So, I'm wondering, buy a new 5" on front for some more cush . It is a nice bike w/ only a 110 miles on it however downhills have an angle that feels like it would throw me over the bars sometimes. If I keep it I need to service at least Triad ($80-120) since neither the shock or fork have been touched.
The big question is do you all think a 5" will give the frame an added benefit by reducing the angles & helping with the suspension OR is it a silly endeavor?
