New question here. '04 S-works Enduro pivot play ?

Hi guys, please help me with this one!

I bought a new unbuilt 2004 S-Works Enduro from eBay a while ago. Just received it on Friday. When holding the frame I noticed a clicking sound. After investigating it, it seems that the sound comes from flipflop link pivots as there would be play in pivots/bearings already. When I pull from seatstays backwards, it seems like the link moves a bit and that's when it makes that sound.

This seems really weird because it is a brand new frame. I think I should try to tighten the pivot bolts and if that doesn't help or they can't be tightened, what should I do ? Keep my 2002 Enduro and sell the S-works frame or change the bearings on the S-works frame or what ? Have you guys encountered similar problems ? I've heard that the upper shock bearing goes out very fast on 2004 models but I've never heard of play in pivots of a new frame.

I had play and clicking coming from my flip flop link after a very wet and muddy 04 season. My LBS replaced the bushings for $15 and all is good again. Maybe the frame isn't brand new as represents? **shrug**

If your S-Works frame is a large, I say keep your 02 and sell me the S-Works frame for really cheep!

I found out that one pivot bolt and upper shock mount (main frame side) bolt were really loose. After I tightened them, the clicking sound and play went away. Simple solution for a simple guy

It's a medium by the way...

keep an eye on that lower pivot bushing.

www.betd.co.uk has as an upgraded "strong" shock bushing that I recommend. I'm nore sure if specialized switched to a 1 piece bushing by 2004. all the new FSR bikes seem to have them though.
