'04 Big Hit Expert and '05 Marzocchi 888s - too slack?

How does the '04 Big Hit Expert (in 66 degree / low BB mode) ride with the '05 Marzocchi 888? I currently have a Manitou Sherman Slider Plus. It carves corners like mad and benefits from anti-brake dive. I'd like to hear if there are issues with excessive fork length using standard '05 888 crowns. How does the 888 feel on skinnies and tight DH slalom compared to lowered 888s or something else with a more standard ride height on the '04 Big Hit Expert? Any issues blowing through travel? Can you spike the compression damping towards the end of the stroke to prevent bottoming?

Are there any Big Hit riders out there using 888s without lowering crowns?

Could I compensate for the '05 888's extra-slackness by setting the head angle to 68.2 degrees using the adjustable rear link?

Would this compensation create any unexpected problems?
