03 S-works FSR rebuild, need help

I am in the process of rebuilding a '03 Specialized S-works FSR (Epic) from the ground up. I mistakenly ordered a 2007 X-9 front derailleur (top swing, bottom pull). The installation manual says its max tooth capacity is 44; my largest chainring is 46 (46-34-24).

    What should I do?

    A. Return the '07 and get a '08 which, according to SRAM, has max of "44/48T"
    B. Go ahead and use the '07 because 2T isn't different enough to matter
    C. Get a 44T outter chainring, although it'd have to be a Salsa and not match the rest (Race Face).
    D. Get a Shimano XT FD-M770 instead (also 44/48 max)

    Thanks for your help.
