    Womble camping

I did the womble classic last weekend and i'm interested in a longer (multi-day) ride including the womble trail. I'd like to do a day or two of gravel and camp off of the bikes....eventually making our way to north fork lake (the start of the womble) and riding to the fishing village. The plan is to park at the fishing village, head out on bikes for 3 days of riding (including 1 day on the womble). I'm pretty sure I can find a place to camp near north fork lake....even if it means bush camping. Has anyone done a similar ride?

I'm planning on doing something like this one day. Check out these links for maps of the area.

http://www.ouachitachallenge.com/ has the route for there 62 mile race/tour that rides part of the Womble and OT. You could use this route help make a loop.

Here is a link to the Forest Service maps. http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/ouachita/maps/

"Ouachita Nationl Recreation Trail (3.6MB)" map is pretty detailed on what parts of the OT is "rideable" also good list for water sources. It also list shelters that are on the trail...

"Womble" map check out the River Bluff camp site. It is primative camping with the standard FS outhouse.

    Kev
