First, the Rabbit Ridge Mountain Bike Trail is in really good shape. This weekend we raked the entire thing (0.7 miles) and the Boy Scouts put some very nice looking markers up. Saw several families enjoying it over the weekend. A perfect place to introduce your kids to mountain biking or to recommend to anyone to try out.
Second, the Jackfork Mountain Bike Trail is in the best shape I've seen it in. We have been working on some reroutes to make it flowier (is that really a word?). We took out some tough turns that did little more than slow you down. We recommend doing it in a clockwise direction, flowing better that way. Also, the park staff took care of a few trees that had fallen over the trail, big thanks to them. Whenever you have a chance, drop by the visitor center (near the Jackfork trailhead) and thank them for supporting mountain biking in Arkansas. We'll be doing some more routing to improve flow. We have found that working in smaller groups for this is best but if you want to help let me know here. We need people willing to rake and swing 10lbs hammers on rocks (you know, fun stuff).
One other note, if you haven't tried it yet, take a ride on your mountain bike from anywhere downtown along the river trail over the two rivers bridge along County Farm Rd and Pinnacle Valley Rd to the big Pinnacle Mountain State Park sign. Drop in on the trail next to the sign and enjoy a nice bit of mountain biking. It's a great ride!
