If you are hosting a kids MTB event on oct 6th, be sure to register the event with IMBA. You will get a Cliff bar sample kit with their new kids products. My boys love the Z-bars. You can also win some kids Schwinn bikes.

This is probably what BianchiDude wanted to post.

Edit: Nevermind, he fixed it now. I'll delete mine to save some space.

My 15 year old has been at it since he was about 6. He raced BMX for a while and his skills far surpass anything I'm capable of. I used to hate it when he would acuse me of "wimping" out on certain sections.

I hope my daughter wants to ride! She just got the walking thing a few months ago so I guess I can't put her on a bike yet. When did you buy your kids their first tricycle? I thought about getting her one for Christmas but she'll only be about a year and a half old so I may wait till her 2nd birthday. She loves being outside so that at least gives me some hope

Just read through that PV Glider website and it seems to be an awesome product.
When I first saw the picture it looked kind of cheesy, but after reading about customer's experience with the product and watching the movie clips, it looks to be a great product...

Where is this take a kid mtbing...?

    The aftermath....

It was great to see everyone who came out today! We were happy to host this ride and even more happy for the turn out. We had advertised on several sites and were prepared for alot more but the group we had was fine!

Enough of the blah, blah, blah here's some pics.

    Al's Ride

An awesome dad w/ his kids!

Dave "Crockett" Senecal doing his thing! Dave is also our Chapter President!

    Climbing clinic

Most of them pushed but some of them tried to climb it...

My buddy Scott "Heckles" Bedwell always says climbing is for your heart and descending is for your soul. Well just look at the looks on these faces!

Our new kiosk as a backdrop...

Dave wrapping things up and welcoming everyone back next year.

Thanks to all the parents and kids who came out and we'd like to welcome everyone back out next year too!

    Just saw this...

Here is my report with pics, same as on the SORBA site:

I cannot say enough good things about this group (Paulding SORBA), or today's event. Each kid got a water bottle, some clif bars (mine were not too thrilled about the SoyJoy bars though) and some other stuff including free ice cream and pizza coupons, I think. They got a number for the front of their bikes and an awesome skills lesson from Crockett (Dave). There were smiles all around, and my daughter (204) said, while riding down the trail (today was her first ride on dirt) "this is the best day of my life"!

I don't know all of the kids names, I am sure others will chime in. There will be more pics too I think.

    Enough jibber-jabber. PICS!

    Crockett's discussion on safety:

The crew moves outside for some real training.

A course is set up on the grass to practice riding up and down hills.

The only crash today (and he tucked and rolled out of it like he knew what he was doing):

Now that we all have mad skilz, it's time to head to the trail. We rode down the Silver Comet for about 1/4 mile to the side trail dejur.

    The paparazzi get ready...

    Here they come!

    Team flip-flop:

That section of trail was so fun the kids rode it three times.

    Then we headed back.

    Group shot:

    Group shot redux:

And what do you do when the ride is over? You hit the playground, of course.

The original plan was take my kid and some of the neighborhood rugrats up to Dupont State Forest, a week ago we had 5 going, then it was down to 4 then schedule conflicts with swimming, and football games and a day of we had two (Mini me and Jake).

We we're late for all of the digging in the dirt activities... as we we're rolling up the road to Guion Farm saw Mr. & Mrs Shrimper leading a gaggle of kids on an trail excursion, So we missed the big group ride as well. We made the best of it, rode the Kids Loop several dozen times, hit all of the stunts, and bugged Valerie & David as they worked.

Then H wanted to take Jake over to Winter Green Falls, so we did that too. played on the rocks and enjoyed the day in the sun. Rode back and Woody had returned, and this is when the fun began... Harrison and Jake got to drive all of the heavy equipment! oh yeah! they had fun, thanks Woody !
