    Single speed ratio for Oak Mountain??

    What ratio do you single speed bad@sses ride at Oak Mountain?

    Not a bad@ss but I've ridden it on a 32x18 and found it near perfect.. 19 or 20 might make the longer climbs easier but I think there would be too much spinning everywhere else.

    i've tried 16,18,20.......18 is the best for me.

    I use 34/20 for OM, but I am a 285lb clyde so I never spin out

    2:1 works for me. It climbs a little slower than 34:18, but the rest of the trail is faster pushing a bigger gear.

    Last time @ Oak Mtn. I rode my Rigid One9 (Niner) w/36t/20t. Did the Red Trail 2x. and did the Yellow 1x.

    Pretty good workout.

    I run a 32x18, but am thinking about putting a 16t rear cog on because I spin out in a lot of places. Anything around a 2:1 will work just fine.

    i run 32:18 on a 29er, been meaning to try 17 for the flats and fireroads.
