    Leaving tomorrow for Bentonville/Slaughter Pen!

How's it looking down there? We'll be arriving tomorrow afternoon and riding through sunday night. The weather looks great, anyone been out? Any advice for first time out of towners?

What are the must ride trails?

Any recommendations for post ride beer/food/entertainment?

Well, we just had a major storm come through with lots of high wind so no telling what you'll find over there.

Should be good, maybe a few muddy spots around SP and Blowing Springs, but those are usually caused by seeps in the winter. Ride all of SP and then head down to Blowing Springs on the green-way and punch those those trails out all in one day. You might want to consider Hobbs if you like nice flowy trails and some climbing. There are about 20 miles of singletrack out there. There are about 10 miles of new trails and a jump/pump park around Lake Atalanta in Rogers. If you want something more technical run up to Lake Leatherwood near Eureka Springs. Oh, and don't forget to check out the north side of A street at Slaughter Pen across from the water treatment plant. Some new trails up there that don't get enough attention.

As far as beer/food/entertainment, lots of options in and around downtown Bentonville these days. It's hard to walk around the square on a weekend night w/o running into roving packs of hipsters. Lot's of good food and breweries: peddler's pub, tusk and trotter, table mesa. The pressroom has very high quality food and drink, but the menu is a challenge. You'll know what I mean if you go there. The Hive at 21c has $2 PBRs...

Thank you, we've spent the last two days riding all three phases of Slaughter Pen, we are absolutely loving this place! We'll probably spend our last day here on Slaughter Pen since we are starting to know our way around.

To be honest we had pretty high expectations coming down here, but we're blown away by this place. I hope you guys who live down here appreciate what you have!

Bumping this as we will be passing thru on Friday as we head to Ouachitta. With these Wednesday night storms, do those trails drain fast enough to be rideable on Friday morning? One day of warm and sunny on Thursday, will that do it?

If not, might hit them on the Monday drive home.

They should all be pretty much dry by Friday. Slaughter Pen will have a few wet spots on Urban and Razorback but other than they should be OK. Hobbs is always ride-able. Blowing Springs may have a few wet spots on the north side. There is a facebook page called "Slaughter Pen Trail Conditions" that'll give you the latest updates.
