    Where to ride near nashville

Going to be in nashville area for a wedding. Looks like i will get ONE chance to ride. Thinking of heading over to montgomery bell unless there is something better to ride. Any suggestions?

That's probably your best option. All the other trails don't drain well so if there is any rain the day before they won't be good to ride. Montgomery bell drains really well and usually is good to ride. It is also an awesome trail to ride. I suggest doing the red trail to the green and then to the yellow.

Yep, if you can only get one ride in around here, that's the best option to schedule. As mentioned, it drains best, also lots of trail, lots of options - most of the trails there have different feels to them, one I don't feel like gets enough love is the white trail. But the race loop is almost required riding in this area. Now, all of that said, when is this wedding? Because we've got this sweet trail in Percy Warner that's going to open soon. It might be you'd get a kick out of that....

When is Percy Warner Opening? I think everyone is excited about that.

I'm an out of towner who spends time in Nashville once a year to visit family so take it for what it's worth but I find Monty Bell to be a bit monotonous and I just want to be done after about 20 min. Seems like too much trail packed into a small space but if it's rained recently then game on since other places don't seem to drain as well.

Much prefer Hamilton Creek. A little flow, a little rocky, ride it both directions if you want a little more saddle time.

Cane Ridge isn't bad either if you are just trying to get a decent ride in, also Lock 4 for more flow is something to consider.

There isn't an exact date set, but if you look for it sometime between the 26th of this month, and the 3rd of next month, you shouldn't miss it by much. Sadly, if they use the latter weekend, I'll be out of town and miss thing opening.

Thats what I hear, can't wait. Been looking at pictures on singletracks of the burms and just can't really wait any longer.

Is the government shut down going to prevent me from getting into the park?

It's a state park, so it's still open.

Actually, it's not even state, it's municipal, so fed shutdown isn't affecting it in any way.

    Where to ride near nashville

I'm partial to Lock 4, between H'ville and Gallatin, because I grew up not too far from there. Do people still ride there? Or is it too far out from Nashville?

Plenty of action at Lock 4 still. I was at a race out there this weekend.
