    Veterans Park - Hoover, AL

Has anyone ridden a mountain bike on the cross country trail at Veterans Park in Hoover, AL? Is it not allowed or just frowned upon?

    Thanks

Probably not a good idea. Lots of runners and walkers combined with blind corners are a bad combo. In the winter, I used go out there early before work on a cross bike - but don't anymore after a few near collisions.

Hi! 43yo rank beginner to mountain biking here, although I've been back riding bikes on the road and light off-road stuff for the past 5 years or so. After inheriting my dad's unused mountain bike, I went to Veterans to get used to the bike before going out to Oak Mountain or somewhere serious like that. As far as I know it's allowed but probably not appreciated by some of the parkgoers - I've gotten some dirty looks. I'd go early before people fill the park, and for heaven's sake take it slow - if you whip around a corner and hit a jogger with a stroller it'll be a big black eye for the cycling community.
