Is there anything good in the FL Panhandle besides Tom Brown/Cadillac?

I'm going to be in PCB for a work thing a couple weeks from now. I'll have a couple or 3 days to get home, so I plan on doing some riding on the trip back to Tampa. I don't mind driving an hour or so away from I-10 to get to a trail. Enlighten me, please....

I think there are some pretty good trails over in Pensacola but that would certainly not be on your way to tampa

i think pensacola is about 3.5-4 hours from i-10. probably not worth the trip unless you just want to check it out.

Hmm... I had a friend living in the Pensacola area for a year and he said there wasn't really anything. But that is further west than I want to go anyway.

Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park in Tallahassee is not too bad and close to I-10. There are miles of open multi-use trails, as well as the Redbug trail, which is an intermediate level single- track trail with lots of roots and hills.

Pine Log Forest and Crooked Creek just North of PCB have some decent trails. Not epic but fun.

Timber Lake in Fort Walton - go to Dragon Sports for info. Can get sandy during the dry season.

UWF trails in Pensacola. www.porc.org - they have several trails in the area.

Jacksonville has some trails. I hear Graham Swamp is improving.

San Felasco in Alachua is very good!

If you have time check out the Marianna Caverns. No MTBing but a cool place to check out!

Graham Swamp (Palm Coast/Flagler Beach) is very far out of the way for him.

Lake Talquin Lines Tract has some trails... not sure how good.

Redbug, just north of I-10 w/Elinor Knapp Park and Lake Overstreet trails across the street.

Munson Hills Trails off Woodville Highway, south of Tallahassee.

All thats in the Tallahasee area, besides Tom Brown - Magnolia/Cadilac Trails.

    UWF at Pensacola is fun.

There's some stuff near Grayton Beach, not sure how good it is...

I believe I-10 goes right through Pensacola. Am I seeing the wrong I-10?

I-10 goes straight through P'Cola... I'm assuming he meant Tallahassee was 3-3.5 hours from P'Cola... or I-75 is 4-4.5 hours from P'Cola?

I'm sure you are correct Bug man.I was also confused by op reference of PCB. I was thinking Pensacola Beach for some reason and I think he meant Panama City Beach. I will bow out gracefully here. Please excuse

Ditto the references to Timberlake in Fort Walton and Pine Log/Crooked Creek north of Panama City.

We have a race on Pine Log Oct 23 and the trail is in great shape.
