    Single speeding in Florida

Hey guys I live and race in West Virginia and run a 32x19 here. Just wondering what ratios everyone runs in FL. I come down every winter and always bring the geared bikes. I want to bring the SS this year also. I ride Santos, Balm, Alifia, markham park, Oleta River State park. Need suggestions. Pretty strong rider. I race expert and wondering what people are running. Thanks.

Since you haven't had any luck here yet, maybe try to contact the racer's edge bike shop in boca raton. I'm pretty sure the owner does single speed mountain biking.

Its largely a personal strength kinda thing... I have no idea how the trails here stack up against Virginia... You've been to them, so you are probably in the best position to answer your question.

    I run a 32x18 and I'm not a strong rider.

Yeah, 32 x 18 would probably be a good start. Since you race expert, you probably have a few cogs in your bag to swap out.

2:1 on a 29er will work anywhere in fla.
I'm more of a spinner, but I've rode a 32x16 everywhere here with no issues.

You would quickly spin out a 32 x 18, I would suggest a 16T cog for 99% of the trails in the FLA.

Thanks everyone. Seeing that sometimes I use a 32x18 around here even I will run a 32x16 in FLA! Looking forward to riding in great weather on awesome trails this winter!
