    Orlando Mountain bike park/Snowhill

Just curious. What happened to the plans of the Orlando mountainbike park? And does anyone still ride out at snowhill road? Peace

8 ride Snow Hill every week. Its usually crowded on the weekends. The Orlando MtB parks appears to be DOA. The soil is/was contaminated.

I ride at Econ State Forest occasionally, but I don't park at Snowhill, I like the Jacob East trailhead. Used to be my "home" trail. Been riding there off and on for many years. Since I discovered Chuck Lennon park I ride Econ MUCH less, even though it is 15 mins closer each way. I have a soft spot for Econ because I started out there and know the place so well, but most of the time its too sandy or completely flooded. Don't know anything first hand about the Orlando park. It does appear to be dead, which really sucks. A lot of work already went into that place.

Ditto an Snowhill, I did my first mtb ride there many years ago, its nostalgic to me... but there are soooo many places to ride that are more fun. I also have picked up more ticks there than in all other places i've ridden combined.

The Orlando park is on hold, possibly permanently. The soil is contaminated, and since the property was given to the city of Orlando by the Navy, the city expects the Navy to clean it up. No further action will be done by the city (or anyone else) until the Navy does so. So the trail that we cut, as well as the pump track that was built, were all a waste of time and money at this point.
