The Ocala Mountain Bike Association and the Office of Greenways and Trails are hosting the first annual Ride of the Living Dead 50 Mile Tour of the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway. This fully supported ride consists of mostly singletrack, with short sections of forest road. The ride starts and ends at the Ross Prairie Trailhead on SR200 and runs to the east, where the lunch stop will be at the Santos Trailhead. Sag stops (4 stops total) with snacks and drinks are also provided. For the adventurous rider, we are also offering a metric century option which will include all of the red/expert trails.
In celebration of Halloween, costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded to the best costumed finishers at the conclusion of the ride.
This event will benefit the Ocala Mountain Bike Association and the Greenways Foundation, the non-profit arm of the OGT. All profits will go towards trail enhancement and maintenance.
