    North GA or Ellijay Trails?

    Me and a few buddies are planning a week trip to Ellijay, Ga
    Just wanted to know what trails or trail systems are a must to hit up

    Been looking at youtube videos of fats and a few other places but where do the locals go to get some serious mnt biking in?

    Anywhere within 2-3 hours of Ellijay works!

    The Pinhoti's 1,2,& 3, and Bear Creek are just a few minutes outside of Ellijay near Mulberry Gap.

    Stanley Gap and Flat Creek are a short drive to Blue Ridge (next town over) and definitely worth checking out. In the immediate Ellijay area, the trails mentioned above are must do trails. Fats is quite a ways to the east and completely different than the Ellijay area. Much friendlier climbing, and mile after mile of awesome flow. Make sure to bring an extra set of legs and lungs with you to Ellijay.

    Forgot to mention. Stop in to see Mike and crew at Cartecay Bikes in downtown Ellijay. Great folks and can help with trail recommendations.

    +1 on Cartecay Bike Shop. Mike and Jim are top notch and know the local area very well.

    @warboom

    Let us know what you think of the trails after you ride. I haven't ventured down there yet but plan to in April.

    I'll be there this weekend for a huge trail work day on the Pinhoti's and Bear Creek. Will post up a report.

    If you are staying in Ellijay, don't miss Chattanooga. White Oak Mtn, Racoon Mtn, and 5-points are all great trails and only 2 or so hours away. Tanasi and Chillhowee make a nice day trip also. Cartecay can help with all of these trails.
