Noob questions on The Rock (Gainesville)

Just picked up my first mountain bike on Friday and wanted to check out the rock tomorrow morning. Is this trail a good beginners starting point? Is the trail marked well? I don't wanna get lost on my first outing.

I'm way outa shape and just wanna get my feet wet. Thanks for any help!

I've only ridden the Rock once, and to my recollection, it's easy. There's two or three spots you might not feel comfortable, so you can always walk. One is just off the parking lot to the right if looking away from Newberry road. It's a sinkhole with the trail going down, then back up. There's a shortcut around the sinkhole if you can find it.

At Felacso, the easy trail is Cellon Creek loop. Starting at the trailhead, the trail goes to the right around the main field you are parked in. It crosses the road at the entrance gate and keeps heading east until you hit the power line road. Follow the road south for 100 yards and you'll come to a trail intersection where you pick Cellon Creek heading west, back to the parking lot.

Thank you very much Sir. I went early this AM and rode a little bit. It's a nice quiet ride!
I'm gonna ride the other one you suggested next Sunday.

How did the new bike ride? Usually take me a two or three ride to get everything dialed in.

It felt good but being a noob I unfortunately don't have any thing to compare it to. It could be all jacked up and feel good for all I know lol.

One thing is for sure, I will be riding every week to get my cardio built up. I gas out way too easy.

Yeah, the heat zaps my energy. I rode all winter and can't wait for cool weather again.
