I ride San Felasco every weekend. Been to The Rock, should be called The Root.
What else is there in the Gainesville area? I looked on MTBR>Trail Reviews, but those are so old it's hard to tell if those are older bandit trails, or real trail systems.
There are trails all over the place. Download Strava and look for the segments with squiggly lines. Or better yet, start going on the Wednesday night rides out of Bikes n More at 6:30
+1 on what Acme said. Go talk to Paul at Bikes n More. He's been riding there since he could barely walk, I think.
I haven't ridden trails down there in a long time, but back when I did it was all about local knowledge. Tons of small urban sections you could piece together all over town.
There are so many trails in the area (some legal, some not so much). I would get with some guys that ride all the time.
