Was out there yesterday as well, and it was beautiful out. Probably be back out there Wednesday.
-
Balm is a great place to ride
-
Im not sure if it was anyone you know but he was wearing a Pro.E jersey when we went out Wednesday. He was riding a Rocky Mountain of some sort. Asked him about a pair of shades some one mightve left in the restroom, seemed like a nice dude.
We rode swamp thing instead of the extension Sunday, but Wednesday we rode the extension. Thats the way ill be going from now on, I found it had much more flow than swamp thing.

Going to Boyette Friday, does anyone have a link to the most u to date map and a suggestion of loops to hit in a particular order. I have only been there once maybe 4- 6 years ago

FL Trails | Florida Mountain Bike Trails: Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve Trail
The map doesnt have Sidewinder Ext on it, but it shoots left at the beginning of Swamp Thing and rides close to the bypass, around Gary's Loop and then dumps you where Swamp Thing/Gary's Loop/Woods Trail come together.
Depending on your mood/skill level.
If im only doing blues:
Hop on Loch Ness, then on to Upper Loch Ness into Randy's Trail, then into Spider Berm (quick loop, doesnt appear as a circle on the map), then back to Gator Pit, and into Golf Cart, after that ride back to Canyon, and then double track out to Sidewinder, then onto Woods Trail, and take it back to Spider Berm and then singletrack bypass lochness and return to parking lot. Its roughly a 13 mile ride. Sidewinder is easily my favorite trail on this list, especially the extension.
Substitute Pandemonium/North Abyss in as of lately instead of Golf/Cart Canyon if im doing some black diamonds.
Im heading out tomorrow and going to do a different route to see if I like it more.

Ridgeline was open Wed. and swamp recently did trail maintenance, so all the trails are in great condition.
I did a different loop in the beginning and didnt really care for it.
-
I miss riding Balm Boyette, and I really miss Ridgeline. I used to ride four times a week there, until I had to move to Alaska, and could ride out from the parking lot, do Ridgeline twice, and ride back to the parking lot without putting a foot on the ground. Riding in the mountains here is fun, but I'll be back in 2015 because Florida trails are great and can be ridden year round. Right now I am stuck commuting with studded tires to work on icey gravel roads, praying I dont run into any bears.
