Anyone want to show me around alabama and georgia mtb riding?

Hi I am new to the area,
looking to ride the best trails, I am in NE alabama but looking to check all the cool riding out.
I am thinking oak mountain, mt chehah, stuff in atlanta, looking to meet people in the mtb riding and race scene here.
Are there any group rides (road or mountain) in atlanta, birmingham or in the anniston area?
    Hope to hear from you!
    Thanks!

West of you is Huntsville. Our main trail system is Monte Sano State Park/MS Landtrust trails. It's roughly 30 miles of trails. We have a group that rides saturday and sunday @7am. You are welcome to join us.

For the Birmingham area (Oak Mtn & Trussville) post up on the forum board here http://bump.org/ They have a bunch of fun loving friendly folks that do group rides all the time.
The standing eight count & three knockdown rules are in effect on this trail.

    Oak Mountain is great.

Just West of BHam is Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa 15+ Miles of tight single track.

Also Lake Lurleen has approx 18 miles +/-
