Cyclists,
This information came to me from the Land Trust of North Alabama. The
bill to renew Forever Wild is up for State House Vote on Thursday.
Passage of this bill will continue to fund Forever Wild from Oil and Gas
royalties from offshore drilling. There is resistance to renewal to
Forever Wild. If you are a mountain biker or hiker, please consider
contacting your State Representative to encourage a yes vote for the
bill. Information on your local representative is listed below.
Friends -
Forever Wild is up for renewal this year in the Alabama Legislature.
What should have been a slam dunk is now a fight, with ALFA and the
Alabama Farmers Federation wanting to kill one of the most successful
programs in the state.
Please call, then email, your state representative TODAY! Details
below.
Thanks for supporting Forever Wild!

Game On!!!!! Just moments ago, the House Rules Committee placed HB126
on the Special Order Calendar for Thursday of this week. This means we
will be looking at a floor vote in the House day after tomorrow. Let's
move out fast and get the Forever Wild support machine in high gear. We
need to immediately focus on the following:
1) Call your local Representative at the State House and tell them you
know that HB126 (Forever Wild bill) will be up for a vote in the House
on Thursday. Tell them to be there and to "VOTE YES ON HB 126 - WITH NO
AMENDMENTS" when it comes to the floor Thursday. Again, if you get
their secretary when you call, ask them to give your Representative a
note with your name, where you are from, that you want them to "VOTE YES
ON HB126 - WITH NO AMENDMENTS", and ask them to call you back. (House
phone numbers provided below.)

2) After you complete your call, turn around and send them an email
stating the same - and put in the subject line "VOTE YES ON HB126 - WITH
NO AMENDMENTS." (House email addresses provided below.)
3) On Thursday we need a large Forever Wild presence in the State House
halls before the House comes into session and we need a large presence
in the House Gallery on Thursday during the floor debate and vote. The
House usually comes in around 10 AM on Thursdays so be there in plenty
of time to see your Representative before moving up to the Gallery .
4) For those who cannot make the trip, we need people listening to the
live House Audio so that we can have constituents back home sending
real-time emails and calling in with messages to any Representative that
chooses to speak in opposition to HB126.

Circulate this widely among your members and supporters and also ask
them to circulate this widely among their friend, family, and business
network.
