?...about Chainbuster 6/9 hour race at Oak Mtn

Did anyone race this event last year? I am racing it this year and was wondering how they laid the course out. What sections of the trail were included in the race?

Looks like it's the same. Bring your big girl panties!

    BUMP
The standing eight count & three knockdown rules are in effect on this trail.

Sorry forgot t update. Yes, I verified it is the same. Although there are two differences. The quarry road section of the BUMP trail has been redone and is somewhat smoother. The other is Jekyl n Hyde has gotten rougher/more technical. Should be a very good race.

Looking forward to it again this year. The top section of Jekyl n Hyde was challenging in the first lap since it was still pretty congested and then the last lap being tired made it technical as hell. Hoping the weather is as nice as it was last year!

I did 6 laps in 5:35 last year. I accidentally checked off "beginner" class on my entry form and didn't know til the results were posted. That lap/time put me in 1st place in that class and would've been 1st in Sport class(where I'd intended).

The Xterra race follows a different route (the last few years anyway). You would be doing a few of the Xterra sections, but backwards.

FWIW - The Chainbuster route is my favorite at Oak Mtn. Just the right amount of climbing and downhill, with a few tech spots mixed in. It is shorter, but MUCH more difficult than the Xterra loop IMO.

road the course oct 27. 2 laps tons of people out there. tough section is probably making the turn on to jekyl that is a *****. it gets super tech. and almost better to pick up and carry. back side is super fun and fast.
