We never did this event, but was curious and considering possibly trying it for 2011.

Curious about the entry fee cost. If we did this on the tandem, it appears it would be $100. For this much $, what is the perk to ride the event? Is it sag supported? Shirts? Banquet Dinner? Why the difference in cost for the different distances? Are they paying money back for all classes for those that get on the box?

Not saying we are in or out, doubt there is a tandem class so we would likely take our licks in the coed or whatever the male/female 2 person team class is.

Lot of coin for this event. Last year the entry fee entitled you to a shirt and a bag with a gel and a couple of other non-memorable items.

Two sag locations. One at the landbridge...just water ..... and one at the turnaround point ...water and gatorade...don't recall any food or fruit.

Thanks my fellow FORCE'er

We will continue to just do our own mini epics when at Santos. Campground to 200, visit Walmart or a Gas Station for water and food if needed and then finish by taking the eastbound route.

Guess we were bored and looking for something to keep us motivated to ride / train for a tandem festival in NC so we don't get dropped so bad on some or all of the climbs.

We'll save the entry fee and maybe just take two bikes, casual day at Santos or Croom and a climbing day at Claremont on the road tandem. Guess we could go frugal and just ride the bridge set from Stuart to the ocean and back a bunch of times, then hit the beach.
