a recent pic.......love everything about her. I recently stopped caring about weight and have her at 28.5 lbs. Running with an Uzzi Link right now. Nothing negative to report other than it doesn't feel much different both geometry-wise and unfortunately plushness. So I guess I'll keep it for a while...I am am getting an extra 1/2 inch of travel. If I get weight conscious, I'll look for a lighter wheelset and fork..... Riding style is mostly aggressive XC, like to climb and only do smaller drops.

Pimp ride

The rig looks sick. Glad to hear you are digging the uzzi link.
Thanks to you aand pics of your Tracer, I just plunked down the cash for a Romic custom tuned shock. The romic will serve double duty to the new pro-pedal flaot Fox is sending me.

Psylo

psylo is an 03 Race. I don't think the 04 is any different though...

I like the fork a lot. RS is fine by me...I enjoy the Psylo's adjustability. With the stiffer spring and more compression it is firm yet plush. If anything, I wish it was a little lighter.

I've owned many RS forks and have had minimal problems that were always addressed well. My favorite of all my forks was a 02 Psylo Race air. I loved it, and it was an honest 3.6 lbs. They don't make it air anymore but I would imagine the Duke Race is quite similar. I'm eager to see what RS has going on.....I think they'll be debuting some new forks soon

Romic and SL Link

So did you get that fancy shock to actually use it, or are you one of those guys that likes to have flashy parts on your bike to attract all the lycra wearing x-country hotties?

Your like most Hummer owner's. You have a badass rig, but it's never put to the test.

PIMP - Info please

What swingarm config are you running (short or long?)... I have an extra Romic from my broken Chuck rig, and tried using it on the Tracer but it rubbed at the link area...

Thanks!

I'm running it in the longer chainstay position and on the link Iwith the tracer link i would run the shock in the 4 inch slack mode (middle hole). Romic told me that it can only be ridden in the 4" slack and you have to rotate the shock so the compression knob faces the bike.

As for whoever asked what the SL link does, it adds a little over a half inch travel wise at the cost of some geometry changes. I had read prior to installing it that it really messed with geometry in bad way but I disagree. It raised the BB a half inch and I could care less what it did to the head angles and stuff like that. All I know is that my bike rides just as well with the link....both climbing and descending. I'm finicky with how my bikes climb and it feels great. The Romic helps with that too!

LSett.......you can hook up your pink bike to your fancy trainer and ride all winter long and come spring you still wont be able to hang with the Pimp Dizzawg

Sl link W/ Romic

I put the Sl link and a new Romic on my 2000 tracer. It was pretty much a pain in the ass or some engineering fun depending. It required removing some material from the cross bar on the link and smashing the seat tube a tad to gain spring clearance. Does the mod bolt right up on later model frames?

In the 4in slack mode I find no fault with this setup and it is night and day better than the Float RC the bike came with. The climbing prowess isn't noticeably different but when I point the front tire down hill... oh my god!...It doesn't feel like same bike. Smooth and bottomless in XC terms. I've got the 02 Psylo Race on the front.

I was gonna pop for a 5-Spot but I think I'll keep the "Frankensteined" ( the unappreciative Intense rep's word) Tracer for a while.

I've got a nose and tail set of 2004 Magura air shocks coming in from the fatherland. I'll let you know how they compare.
