FSR Enduro bushings

I've got a '99 FSR Enduro (even though Specialized informed me that year doesn't exist) that needs new bushings. I've got the replacement kit, my question is: what's the best way to remove the old bushings? Anything I need to look out for?

Thanks!

There were Enduro models in 99, though they weren't really called Enduro by model, more by riding style (the term wasn't used as part of the name until 2000).

The pivot parts are not easy to take out. I've had to do it many times, basically you have to use the ham-fisted method.

For the alloy thru-shafts, if they're in tight (dirty and grimy), they'll have to be tapped out with a bit of force. Typically, I like to use a flat-ended rod of some kind that's relatively blunt, and a hammer. A few sharp taps and they'll drive out the other side.

For the bushings, a thin-bladed screwdriver and a small hammer to tap the bushing out from the inside edge seem to work well.

For reinstalling new parts, a good clean square table-mounted vice works well, be careful not to overdo it, press them in lightly.

For lubing, standard petroleum based motor oil works great and keeps things running slick, but requires more maintenance.

Dealers can get info on the parts, installation and disassembly for these models.
