Well I have a 2003 Giant NRS 2. Its a great bike and Ive taken it everywhere. I have taken it to Big Bear and some local Trails. I have about 400 miles on it. Its a efficient climber and it does ok on downhills. And the Avid Discs rock!! Awesome stopping power.

Specs are as follows:
Eggbeater Chrome
Sram PC-99
Avid SD-5 lever
ODI rouge grips
WTB Mutano 2.4 (F) and 2.24 (R)
the rest is stock components.

how much do you like your mutano raptors?
I love the mutanos a lot. It works really well in the Socal conditions. (dry, dusty, rocks) Using the 2.4 in the front and the 2.24 in the rear helps too. These tires handle really well going down rocky areas. The only thing I dont like about them is in the mud. It packs up a lot a mud and it really messses things up. But overall Its a good tire for all day riding but not XC stuff.

I have the same bike which was purchased in July 2003. I took her home and modified the bike with parts below. I just added some custom made coca-cola decals to the frame because the color scheme is similar to that of a coca-cola can.

2003 Giant NRS2
SID Team fork w/remote lockout
Easton monkey lite carbon bar
Thomson seatpost & stem
XTR front/rear derailer
XTR shifters
XTR disc brake calipers
XT brake levers
XT hubs
XT crankset
XT cassette
Mavic x317 rims
WTB laser v stealth saddle
WTB 2.1 weirwolf tires
Whipperman 9x1 ss chain

Great choice in bike. One thing to watch for though is the reverse arch on your skareb. I broke mine after my first header and did not notice it until my wheel started rubbing. They warrantied it but I just upgraded to a Marzocchi Marathon S which was a HUGE improvement. ANyways nice ride.....

Thanks, yeah I have heard about the reverse arches cracking but it hasnt happened to mine (knock on wood) Anyways, Im planning to upgrade to a Fox Vanilla R (100) because it's a lot plusher and I like Fox Forx in general.

hey I was wondering what size frames you guys have and what height you are. I am 6ft and considering a medium 03 NRS but thinking it might be too small.

Cheers for any advice
My frame size is 16.5 and im 5' 5''. I think that a large would fit you but you need to go out and try them out to see which one fits best
