    Seriously, we need your help

I'm as tired of pushing the report button as I am seeing the gibberish all over the place. What can we do to help with the spammers? Nominate more mods?

Wait for the message that says they are taking MTBR off-line to fix a real problem ... I've seen it before on other forums, and they wern't as bad as this place seems to be.

    Serious !!!

That's what it took on a gun forum, after they did the same upgrade that MTBR did.
They also ported everything to a new server, when they did the shut it down, and do it right, thing.

I can live without MTBR for a few days, if that's what it's gonna take.

I just hope they send a blanket email, or post a big announcement, before such actions occur.

I have a theory. With the old forum version, the spam was relatively basic...a short of child's play. With the new version, the spam seems more professional and somewhat related. I think we are dealing with a higher class of spammer.

95% or more of new members appear to be spammers. The Tsunami shall continue I'm afraid. Never have I seen a board with this much spam activity.

Running with the idea that these spammers are a higher class of spammer, perhaps they are exploiting a know bug in this version of the vBulletin (e.g., API that is left open to scripting).

Almost impossible to do anything on this forum, anymore ... Minutes just to logon, server to busy notifications, etcetera, as already noted by many.

    Currently Active Users
There are currently 14573 users online. 2413 members and 12160 guests

    The number just keeps rising.

Out because it's just not worth it to find out if this posted correctly.

    Maybe later.

    Hey Guys,

Yes, the spam problem is bad right now. Real bad.

We are still working on ways to keep them out and get them out (for those who have already registered).

Thanks for your patience, stay tuned.

Glad to hear someone is taking steps. This is seriously annoying, and what I've done in the short term is to remove all of my email notifications. I like getting topic/forum notifications but don't want spam and crap posts to clog up my inbox.
