Posting images in threads, automatic downsize?

When posting images from my Photobucket on here, they never display in their true saved size. They are much smaller, but they show up just fine on forums like

What option do I have turned on or what needs to be disabled?

Bump. I have been wondering why they get downsized too. Trip reports would be a lot better if the pics were full size!

Can't you see them full-size if you click on them?

When you click on some it opens full size in another tab, others in a pop-up window. Others you cannot click on. But some trip reports have tons of pictures so it would be a pain in the ass to click on all of them.

The point is trip reports and photo threads would be a lot better if all the photos displayed full size by default.

Except the forum software has had problems with enormous photos blowing out the layout. Edges of the photos get lost. Words wrap behind page elements. It's a mess. People could not be trusted to post photos within an appropriate dimension range, so the forum needed to force resizing to keep things under control.

It REALLY sucked when there was a photo sharing thread and everything would be going fine until someone posted a grossly oversized image, which would ruin that entire page of posts for everybody else.

I'll take small images over screwed up layouts any day.
