The new format is teh suck

it's been a couple weeks now and I still can't stand it.

It's simply not appealing, plus many of the the search features are all screwed up.

    Agree/disagree?

Agree. It's simply how the threads are stacked IMO. It looks too busy and it's too hard to find threads that catch my eye, or ones I previously visited (and recognize them by title). A smaller secondary issue is that the forum navigation is somewhat annoying in that it always starts at the "top", rather than if I want to jump from NorCal to AZ forum, which is only "one forum away" in the order of things, it always starts off at the top at Passion or whatever, so I have to scroll way down to find it.

Agreed. I don't even go on the computer to view it anymore. I just use Tapatalk.

I saw a buddy online a bit ago and clicked on the "recent posts" button or whatever it's called - just to see what's he's been up to. All it brought up were posts from 2006.

When you hit the "latest forums posts" button - results read as a stream of consciousness. As you said - it's hard to read.

I dont find the new format intuitive - and I figured it was time for people to offer up their opinions.

Agree... Only use Tapatalk, which I suspect gives them no advertising credit. Not ideal.

I hate it. Its a major reason why I have spent very little time on MTBR in the last couple of weeks.
Even just to do this reply, i hit the "Reply To Thread" button, it only takes me to the Quick Reply screen. I have to hit a second button to do an advanced reply.
The old format, it was one button to do an advanced reply, no buttons to do a quick reply.

The whole thing feels like it was designed simply to fit more advertising space. I don't mind a few ads. It pays for the site. Fine. I can deal with that. The column on the right side is considerably bigger. It gives less space to the fun part of the forum.

    The smileys suck a$$!!!

Its really annoying that screen names don't fit.

    I want my money back!

Old format: I had class. I was a contender.

New format: I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am.

    (it works fine for me)

Seems like I was a lot funnier on the old format whereas this format makes me seem dummer.
I'm not sure how this works.

Since the 'upgrade' I have used MTBR substantially less, mainly because I can no longer open the forums from my computer at work (IE 8 on Windows Vista....not exactly up to date I know). I now always get a 'page read error' and only load the page header but everything else comes up blank. I have no problem accessing the rest of MTBR (home page, articles, reviews) from my work computer.

Not really seeing the benefits of the new format....

I don't like to complain because it isn't my site, but I have to admit I am having a harder time getting around the site. I would like it better if the threads were a lot wider on screen, visually it would make things a lot easier to find imo.

I think this is useful info for Francois. Sometimes complaining is good - so long as it's constructive.

I'd like to complain about your use of the word constructive. It makes me think of tall buildings and tall buildings do not belong on an MTBR forum.

(see what I mean? That would have been way funnier on the old format.)
I'm not sure how this works.
