    WTB Dirt Drops-who wanted them?

I've got a brand new pair of WTB Dirt Drops. Didn't someone on this forum need a pair last week, or so? Give me a holler if it was you, or you know someone who does.

    Cheers,
    -Hurl

    drop bars and stems

I don't want them, but i do need some information on their use. i've been riding on these bars for over a year (now totally hooked) and just can't find the right stem to go with them. i've settled on the right geometry (40 degree rise by 100mm). those are the dimensions of my current (cheap) stem, but as a two-bolter, it just doesn't stay tight and makes the dreaded creaking noise. creaking sucks on an otherwize tight and silent bike. any ideas about upgraded the stem? would a stem using 4-bolt to the bars help?

make sure you're not using a 26.0 stem on a 25.4 bar. Also, you might try finding a Nitto Dirt Drop stem. They're pretty rare, but were originally found on 1987 Bridgestone MB-1's, which came stock w/drop bars. Check Rivendell maybe. Beyond that, and perhaps you've done this, make sure that the stem bolts are well-lubed, and that the bar and stem are both clean, free of dirt/dust etc.

    cheers,
