    WI trials freewheel

Is the wI trials freewheel better for xc riding than the standard freewheel? Is it louder? Does it roll as good with the extra pawls?
    Thanks

Some believe that you can get King hub quality at a better price with this freewheel. I am trying to get a inner drive for my 20t to get a 72POE. I am currently at 36POE which is not terrible my any means, but I'm American I live in a place were a can changes color depending on how cold the beer is I can't settle for mediocre.

I have both flavors. The trials seems to make more noise and I can't tell a difference in rolling resistance but physics would say that there would be but if you're running a freewheel you're not out for 100% performance, you're more into reliability. For XC riding it doesn't make any difference. If what you want is an 18t there really isn't much of a reason not to get it except cost.

    this has been covered

IMO, it is worth the cash if you want 18t. i find it cheaper/easier to change chainrings rather than keep a ton of FWs handy also.

    it is for sure louder.

You can have the trials freewheel in any tooth combination WI makes by changing out the innards.

I thought of doing this, but thought that I'd just get both the 18t trials and a 20t. That way if you do a race on flatter terrain, etc. you would have the 18t body as well. Although it would be cheaper if they did just get back to you, perhaps.

36 poe vs. 72. That'd make it twice as loud

I didn't notice any extra drag on mine.

One option would be to buy the trials FW, swap drivers so you have a 20T trials and then sell the 18T regular freewheel.
