Why upgrade cranks? Is it worth it?

I have truvativ blaze cranks in my GT Peace 9r(mtb version + commuter version), I have upgraded lots of things like fork, bar etc. and next thing could be the cranks but why does example MIDDLEBURN cranks cost about 160euros??? Whats the real difference between truvativ blaze & middleburn??? Greetz from Finland!

Weight and stiffness for the most part. If you feel the Blaze's roll along fine, wear them out. Upgrade when they die. They really aren't worth anything.

    Yep,
ride them to death. Then replace.

I've been running Shimano LX (Hollowtech 2) cranks on two SS bikes, with bashring for protection and spider reinforcement. One set needs new BB after a few years, and I think I'll try a Hope BB on that bike. You can get Shimano, and spares, everywhere.
