Where to ride in Santa Cruz?

I'm new to SS and just moved to Santa Cruz for the summer. Do any of you know any trails that will help me build my SS skills? I live in AZ the rest of the year so tech riding does not intimidate me.

    Thanks

I ride Wilder Ranch mostly since it's right near my place. The climbs should be pretty easy for SS. I ride 32x21 but I know there're local guys here who ride SS in way harder gears than me. The climbs there aren't steep at all but I'm just a wuss. You might want to post up on the NorCal board here too.

Is there a good shop in town that has single speed components? I'm thinking of changing my gearing a little bit for the terrain.

Another Bike Shop on Mission seems to have Chris King cogs when I go there. I'm pretty sure every other shop stocks some sort of SS stuff though. What are you running now? Have you ridden any local trails yet to determine if you really need to change anything?

bicycle trip also carries cogs etc.

you can ride all over wilder and the surrounding area on your SS. no problem. even Soquel Demo is fun on the SS depending on what kind of condition you are in.
