Wheel needs a purpose and home..

Well it looked like a good deal. Checked out the bargin bin at my LBS and found this NOS wheel. The hub is solid axle Sovos 7 speed freehub and the rim is a single wall 27 mm wide clincher; all for $20. Sure it's pretty low end, but at the time I was converting an old road bike to a SS and was looking for a freehub road wheel. Well after buying it I came to find out the hub is 135mm. What? Why would anyone build a 700cc wheel with 135mm spacing? I figure if someone out there has a cross bike with 135mm spacing and is in need of a cheap wheel, have I got a deal for you.

FREE, that's right, free to a good home. Who ever can give me the most practical need for this wheel gets it for the price of shipping. Anyone?

Are you a mind reader, aka brad? I kid you not, a 700c rim laced to a 135mm hub is EXACTLY what I've been looking for over the past couple of days. I'm off to send you a PM!

I'd bet it was built for a hybrid / comfort bike. Sounds very much like what came on my girlfriends old Mongoose hybrid. The shop probably had it in stock originally as a replacement wheel- there's lots of bikes like that, and somebody is bound to get thier rear wheels stollen, rusted out, wrecked, or just wretchedly out of true.
