    Weekend Report: Post Armageddon

With the end of the world near, I figured I'd best get after it. Getting after it requires salsa.

Inspired by Stevob's offering last fall, I conspired to have a go. I mean, we did spend all that money on the swank cellular devices... no use limiting myself to WordsWithFriends. Be gentle. I intended more footage, but to be honest, I'd have preferred the Apocalypse to the angry turf war between the black flies & skeeters. One can only assume the original doomsdayer was a ss'er from Massachusetts. I'm not sure what was worse; the searing calf pain or stopping for a rest.

Anyhoo... chalked up a few today.

Hopefully Mr. Umarth won't be completely offended at my jumping on his thread titleage.

    Let's share the wealth.

Mosquito hatch must have coincided with the Rapture...
...flat tires too I guess (we had 4 on the day)

...but we soon realized everything would be okay

Apparently I was riding in Oregon this weekend .. or at least that's what it looks like given the condition of my bike. My local trail looked an awful lot like the pictures Sparticus and umarth post.

Nice work, Troutbum! Thanks for keeping this going. I really enjoyed the video you posted and I would be stoked if this gets picked up by various people every week.

I basically accomplished the goals I wanted to hit this week- a Fri-Sun total of 10k climbing feet and 75 miles. Wut wut. Anywho, some ****ing photos.

    1. The dog makes the video! (Sorry, I miss my dog-rip)
    2. Hit a little mud this weekend myself but just patches here and there.
    3. Is it too early in the morning for a taco salad? Man that looks good.
    4. No mosquitos on my rides this weekend and I in MD????
    5. Way to go Umarth! I wasn't even close to 75 miles.

I was fortunate enough to get out twice this weekend (Sat/Sun). On Sat, I rode my bike to my daughters soccer game so I was on the road for 9 miles from the start, then got in two loops of our white trail (6 miles) before actually taking a break to watch the game. I then rode back home for another 9 miles. Not going to lie, my legs were gone!

Sun, I was going to ride to the game again since we were playing at the same fields but as I was getting dressed it started to rain so I bailed. Half way to the fields it was beautiful and about 80 degrees! Came home and got in a quick 9 miler on the trails up the street from my house.

Only complaint was my seat edges banging into the upper/inner thigh area and I kept eating all sorts of frickn bugs. No mosquitos though but then again, I did not stop long enough for them to get me as I am sure they were out there.

As far as the seat goes, I have been back and forth as to what to ride and what feels comfy. I slapped my old Merek full carbon saddle on the bike and it actually felt more comfortable than my newer Flight Caronio and weighs less of course. But the edges on the thing are just too damn sharp and I already have bruising on my thigh. My Aliante is comfy but too heavy and is quite wide at the rear so it is hard to slide over. Ended up winning a SLR carbonio last night so that should be in at the end of the week (ebay). Oh the drama.

Man, I gotta start riding with my camera.

The weather was pretty nice on Sunday. Didn't take any close-ups or food and drink pics.

I already had the rear wheel before I put this bike together, and needed to buy a collar and bar anyway...
