That's steep even in US dollars. And yes I get that when you factor in a trip to NZ it is merely a drop in the bucket.

Meh.... It's more an observation than a complaint.

    Yeah, it will be that
Probably the last time in the Southern Hemisphere for a long time too...

Santa Cruz Chameleon 26er - Dropper, 120mm Pike, Flow EX's with lotsa grip, 12kg...
Diamondback hardtail 26er - 34/20 gearing, 100mm SiD, race tyres, Roval Control 17mm ID rims, 9.5kg...

Not knowing the conditions, trails, weather, I think the Chameleon would get the nod at the moment

Just a heads up for anyone traveling to NZ for this. NZ appears to have some pretty strict rules regarding outdoor equipment(bikes) coming into the country.

Better make sure that bike is spotless before packing....

It would be nice to have an MTBR get together (over craft beer?) in Rotorua

I was there in 2010 and there is a bit of climbing but the flow of the trails is well worth it. Not sure of the route this time around, I'm sure they'll change things up a bit. Length back then was 2 laps of 20km each. With a mandatory beer before the second lap :-)

    Thanks
I was thinking 32/20 or 32/18. Here I ride 32/20 with 10% climb average and 1 kms length (more and less) every climb

I'm sticking to 32*18, I'm too lazy to change gearing haha.
