    SSers who ski

Any SSers out there skiing or riding right now? Chili? TeleMark?

I ran into Louis the other day up here in Kirkwood. We are getting pounded with snow. Blizzard conditions. Loving it!

Can't tell you how good it feels to watch our storms bypass the NW and dump on Cali-the snowpack in my corner of Oregon is 21% of normal. Core shots anyone?

    yeah

I ski, mostly of the cross country variety. We just had major rain blow through northern wisconsin yesterday, which kind of hurt the skiing, but I was back out today, and the skiing ain't half bad.

    Here's a pic

Here's a pic. Just a quick shot from the cabin window. I was a bit busy today skiing four feet of fresh snow that fell last night. The sun came out, road closed in both directions. Steep and deep. Best day I've had in years....decades?

    It was sweet...

I was skiing Northstar and Diamond Peak (North shore of Lake Tahoe) for the last week. Something like four feet of snow in two and a half days. The powder was up to my waist, and I am prettty damn tall. It was SWEET. sorry about your snowless situation in Oregon.

I wish I was at Kirkwood though. It is the best of the best, and for some reason I didn't go for a season pass this year after three years of having one. So Stupid of Me.

Just got back on the tele boards this week

I skied for many years and then just stopped when I moved to Japan (but not close to the Japan Alps) and did not get back to it until this last week down at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, OR. Luckily the single-speeding helped keep the quads strong enough to be able to drop the knee. Boy, those new-fangled plastic boots and wider skis sure are nice. The last time I was out on tele boards, I was on 205cm skinny skis with leather boots. What a difference.

Tele is the SS version of skiing

I prefer the tele variety of skiing. Got out for a few hour tour this weekend in the Wasatch. It was nice but avalanche conditions were mod/high so I didn't go too steep, but it was deep.

yeah but, El Nino ain't treating us very swell here in Western Mt. A couple weeks ago I was riding my bike with a buddy and it was in the 50's on dry dusty trails. Normally the trails woulda had at least a foot! I have been twice on some good days at our Ma&Pa ski Area but no touring yet...soon, very soon...I hear that the pack is good and no sh!tty layers yet...YeeHaw! I like'em my heels FREE.

    Doh

When I heard about the storm that hit tahoe/reno I somehow knew you'd be snowed in at Kirkwood. BASTARD! That looks soooo rad.

THe best day(s) I've ever had skiing were those when we were snowed in at Kirkwood.

    jealous!
