there are a few nutjobs...I mean er uh hardcore dudes that use only one gear.

I live a bit farther south west in Hendersonville.
Typically I ride DuPont or Pisgah, and primarily by my self.
I am not anti social (much) it is just easier logistically to go solo, and the pace is always just right.
After robbing the fork & Pedals off of my Jamis Dragon I am now back to strictly SS.
If you are into "Tree huggin rides" at a fun non racer pace with out of shape old (ish) dudes, and aren't embarrassed by admitting you have to walk up stuff occasionally I am game to ride.
Current Fave is Laurel Mountain to Pilot Rock. I would like to string in the Pilot Rock loop trail some day soon but honestly after you get done with the climb up Laurel….
I'm a recent transplant myself - an hour away in Spartanburg. I'm
getting up there pretty often now that I'm settled in.
I'm about to post upthread soliciting a ride Saturday - DuPont,
Pisgah, whatever. Drop a note if you want to ride in the a.m.
before the rain hits.
