SS conversion + single speed chain.... question

Hi guys... I'm building a SS rigid 26" out of spare parts. I'm using truvativ isoflow cranks + gusset kit.

I ordered a KMC 1/2" x 1/8" single speed chain and now I'm looking at the side to side play and I'm wondering will this chain work with my chain ring/cog's?

Or should I be using a 9 speed sized chain?

sorry if it's been asked I checked the faq and tried searching

it will work just fine, I run a 1/2"x1/8" KMC chains on a couple of my SS bikes with gusset type gears: dj bike, XC bike, commuter bike --- no issues on any of them.

1/2" x 1/8" works for small teeth so it's fine.

It does not really matter if the chain is a little wide. Too narrow wouldn't be any good. My choice has been "high end" 9 speed chains, particularly Shimano's CN-7701 which seems to last way longer than cheap chains.
