Six grand for one of ten bikes

Just saw this on the IF website, their 10th anniversary bike, the Roadster. It appears that they're only making 10 of these and it's being sold as a complete bike. Six grand. That's a lot of dosh...!

    Any takers?

So you had your name on the list for one of these bikes and now you want out? Interesting.

Nah, just wanted to say 'not interested'. In my special and dumb way, that is.

    Perhaps.

Though for six grand I suspect I could get an even uglier one built.

Sorry IF..6K for that bike is just plain CRAZY

Having said that, I bet there are some on the boards that will order 2 for their collection...

    Ugh

I don't mean to knock IF, but $6k for a goofy fun round town bike? What happened to "no advertising?" Is everthing elite now? I think a "limited edition" bike from "indepedent fabrication" is just plain confusing.

$185 for bike, $5,815 for beer

Maybe I was a bit harsh in my previous post. IF is great, though I wisht anyone one who wanted a roadster frame could buy one. Oh well.

    This one'll get 'er done.

    If IF...

If IF cruisered it up, you know, curved the tubes. There would be a chance. I think the color is great. 6Gs is heavy.
You know, I think "it" might "move" if were 4Gs.

..."super-awesome extra tube for added coolness and style". Most the steel frames at IF cost about $1600; add the silver headbadge and it's say $1700. So I bite, how does one justify $4000 worth of components on a SS town bike? Must be quite a paint job. I feel better about my Rocklobster everyday.

I guess it kinda makes sense... Its so ugly, no one will try to steal it. So what you end up paying for is a security feature.
Quite possibly the slowest single speeder on earth.
    Now skating 'cause its cheaper.

Not even if they offered it as a 29er!

I suppose the high ticket price makes the 10 bikes even more "limited."
Man, those wheels look small, esp with that chainring and cruiser tires...
    At least it's a singlespeed.

6k and i'm getting XT levers, flat pedals, and so on? are they f#@%$^g kidding? even if it is full bling custom on the frame, that is absolutely ridiculous.

even if i were to buy myself a 2k frame, i'd be hard pressed to spend another 4k on stuff for a SS townie, no matter how nice i wanted it. even the highest end stuff i'd want couldn't get me there. one off stuff maybe.

Hell, for that money, I'd get a full-zoot Jones frame and have $2K left over for bling parts ... I can't see how they will sell these. So. Ugly.

...you can have one of these puppies; Ti, EBB, Avid discs and Rohloff hub. I figure you could sell the hub and cranks (Truvativ crank arms on a $6500 bike??!!) on ebay and it would be one sweet SS.
