    Singlespeed Playlist

A recent thread sharing music that drives the SS heart inspired me to start this thread....

Let's get more specific than just which band we like to listen to while riding SS. MAybe someone's got a song on theirs you haven't thought of for SSing tunes...

    What's your current SS playlist?

    Here's mine:

    Rusted Root-Primal Scream
    Rusted Root-Scattered
    Rusted Root-Laugh as the Sun
    Gogol Bordello-Transcontinental Hustle
Gogol Bordello-In the Meantime in Pernambuco
    Gogol Bordello-Lila Palatute
    The Chieftains-Boil the Breakfast Early
    The Chieftains-Up against the Buchalauns
    Allman Brothers Band-Jessica
    Allman Brothers Band-Pony Boy
Mumford and Sons-Roll Away Your Stone
    Mumford and Sons-The Cave
    Led Zeppelin-Ramble On
    Led Zeppelin-Bron Y'aur Stomp

Well, this is what I can remember off hand without my Ipod right here in front of me... (lef tin my car today)...

Alright, dude, I can't sit by and idly watch while 103 people view this thread and don't comment. That list sounds awesome. I make lots of playlists for the spin classes I teach, so when I go ride and listen to music I tend to just throw a whole album on so I don't have to keep fiddling with my ipod during the ride or spend any extra time before the ride making lists for myself. I do use the genuis feature a lot, too, but I tend to ride with metal as the soundtrack, although it certainly isn't the only thing I listen to. Honestly, I like to ride with ELO's greatest hits sometimes, but usually I'll throw on:
Anything by System of a Down, Lamb of God, Pantera, Dillinger Escape Plan, Mr. Bungle, White Stripes/Racontuers/Dead Weather, Meshuggah (honestly this is some of the most high-intensity stuff to listen to while riding some sweet singletrack). I also love bluegrass, so I love riding to a group called The Devil Makes Three (honestly if I could have their music playing 24/7 as my own personal background music I would be a happy guy), and there's a great bluegrass tribute to Metallica called "Fade to Bluegrass" by a group called Iron Horse. Man, I love music just slightly more than I love riding a bike, so I could go on for days. And Zeppelin are the kings, I throw their remastered four-disc collection on quite a bit.

I have a mix of stuff loaded into the player. It has to have a good tempo and guitars with some drive. Amongst the couple of hundred randomly played tunes I'd get to hear a lot of:

    Dropkick Murphys
    The Cult
    Redd Kross
    Manic Street Preachers
    Flogging Molly
    Metallica
    Weezer

Also some ska stuff and a lot of independent Australian bands because I'm Australian and I like the independent stuff, The Hard-Ons, Celibate Rifles, You Am I, Radio Birdman.

Basically anything that angrys up the blood. Grrrr.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about Redd Kross. I'm going to have to re check them out. Lately I've been listening to my Guided By Voices/ Robert Pollard/ Tobin Sprout combo.

I also like riding with Sparklehorse

Yeah, there's a mix of mostly Dropkick Murphies, The Specials and Rancid in my urban/fixed mix.
