    Single Speeding Near NYC

I'm new to single speeding & live in NYC. Can anyone please advise me to good trails for single speed in the area, particularly CT, NJ, PA, NY and even MA? Many thanks!

    Cunningham Park...

Is a great place to ride a ss bike. More techy, rocky than most Long Island trails.

Thanks everyone. And what F/R tires are folks riding on these trails?

Check out MTBNJ.com and click ride directory for all near you. Allaire and sixmile are good starters. You prolly can hop a train to those too...

That the answers will vary widely. I like Geax, so I run Saguaro's for 3 seasons and Gato's in the winter. Tubeless of course.

Forest Park in Queens has some trails. I believe there's some trails up in Inwood on the Northern tip of Manhattan. You can do some quick hit and runs in Central Park though the authorites frown on it. Minnewaska state park is good too.

I 2nd this. I was in NYC visiting a couple of weeks ago at the beginning of February (when the weather was around 60 deg F!), and I rode Cunningham park for the first time. My buddy Eric, who took me there, brought his FS multi geared and his hard tail SS for us to ride and switch up on. The park was fun and had nice little technical sections throughout. I found myself wanting to ride the SS more than the multi geared FS. Of course my buddy did too, and it was his bike, after all.

In any case, that lit the fire for me to build a SS of my own.

You'll enjoy Cunningham park. 6.5 miles of trails, I think.
