    scirocco magic gear

built it around six months ago, never quiet got the time to post here.
it started as a 35 lbs aggressive bike's solution to eliminate gear skipping on rocky trails.
has gotten lighter during this six months, to become the xc bike (the heckler is back to being the heavy one).
32:16 ratio. the chain (no brand wide chain) was quiet tight at the beginning. now its very loose (more than an inch of lateral play), but hasn't fallen yet.

    enjoy

    Flexy?
Yeah, my Scirocco is a real noodle too...

I hear 34/18 is also good, with a new chain.

The dropouts on the old Sciroccos look cooler than the new, more plain, ones.

    a great site i've found: http://www.eehouse.org/fixin/formfmu.php

the 32:16 is the same as 34:18 and 36:20 tensionwise. any ratio to the left, i think, would result in a too tight chain.
