Ride: All Comer's Meat -- Sat., Jan. 22 (Oregon)

The Disciples of Dirt invite you to join us for our annual All Comer's Meat on Saturday, January 22 in the secret singletrack sanctuary known as Whypass. Bring your knobbiest knobbies and be sure to fender your sled for this relaxed-paced event. Plan on about 16 miles of mucky singletrack including ~2500' of climbing. Singlespeeders are especially encouraged to attend. All genders are welcome. This is a clothing optional ride. Meat at 10am on January 22nd at the Lorane Country Cafe (the cafe is closed but the parking lot still makes a good place to meat). Find the cafe 1/2 mile north of the town of Lorane, Oregon on Territorial Highway.

Directions: From Eugene, take West 11th Ave. to Bertelsen Rd. There's a traffic light at the intersection of W. 11th and Bertelsen in west Eugene. Turn south onto Bertelsen and reset your odometer to zero as you do so. Even though you'll make no turns off this road for about twelve and a half miles, the road's name will change from Bertelsen to Bailey Hill to Lorane Hwy. Don't worry about it, just keep driving and make no turns. At 12.6 miles you come to Gillespie Corners. This is where Lorane Hwy. T-bones into Territorial Hwy. Turn left onto Territorial Hwy. (follow signs directing you toward the town of ). At 17.2 miles, turn right into the Lorane Country Cafe parking lot.

If you have questions about this ride, PM or email me. Better yet, just show up.

There should not be any snow this year. Just wet and muddy!

I am not stashing anything in the woods but Sparty and lswing may have something in the works.

The General Store in Lorane (next to the Post Office) has been alerted to our crowd. Good place for pre-ride breakfast and post-ride lunch. Good food and great prices.

    Wish I could go.....

I know I have missed a few rides, sorry. I really enjoyed meeting everyone at my first Barbie Camp. I have been busy with my re-training classes (learned allot in the woods of NE WA near Spokane for survival school), and I'm currently in Oaklahoma with no bike, no car, and bored out of my mind, but class is tough so that should keep me busy. A year after the ankle injury it still hurts a bit, and when I goto Little Rock AFB for my 5 months of aircraft/aircrew initial qualification, I am bringing the Tractor with me and going to explore Arkansas (I'll have my car with me then). I have a chance to intergrate bicycling into my life much more since my work will be much more structured. I also bought a bike trailer for Elina, and she really enjoys riding in it. Anyway, drink a beer, or 20 for me eh?

Anyone need a ride from Portland?

Or anywhere in the Willamette Valley, for that matter? I can take one additional bike/rider, or two with enough advance notice to get another rack attachment on the roof.
