Removing Rennen single speed spacer kit?

Short on tools, and thought I could simple swap out cogs removing the Rennen Single Speed Spacer kit.

When I first installed it, just place the two telescoping couplers on and then screwed on the top cap (for lack of better word). Of course after months of riding it probably is nice and tight. Wrenching it off by hand did not work.

Need a tool to get the top cap removed?

I have that exact same spacer kit (very cool by the way) and YES, you need a cassette lockring tool to remove the lockring. Like this one:

Add this to your tool box as you need it to make sure the lockring is nice and tight after you swap out cogs.

Yeah, you don't really have a choice on getting that tool. You can find them pretty cheap (under $10USD). Hand tight is not really a great idea for a lockring.
