QR skewer barely holding on with a chain tensioner...

So my rigid 26" SS is done and built and the only problem I have now is the skewer barely holds on the rear wheel. The sette chain tensioner adds an extra .25" or so and I can only finger tight the QR on.

What skewers are you guys using for this situation? I'm guessing 135mm (is this the standard for mtb rear or is 130?)

135mm should be the ticket...I've always used either Salsa or some bolt on hex key skewers and they both have worked great...

What kind of a bike do you have? Some older bikes came with 130mm spacing. Standard now is 135. You can always take off the rear wheel and measure.

I use Shimano (XT) skewers and haven't had any slippage issues.

the frame is a jamis dakota. I'm thinking the skewer I'm using just might be abnormally short.

I'm going to measure and probably try a different skewer off my HT later on today
