    Preferred wheel/hub configuration ?

I was just a bit curious what most people prefer for their rides. I've gotten some opinions in person and via the LBSs in my area, was just looking for more data.

    i'll do you one better!
favourite hub for horiz. drops= paul's hub
for verts= i am now enjoying a beautiful eno hub.

i have more wheels converted from cassette hubs, but the stiffer wheel (wide flange woot!) and the ability to run those WI freewheels...
WI's track record in snow was a big deciding factor for me.
Not that cassette hubs inherently fail at the hint of a snowflake or something, but I don't like opening freehubs to service them, the WI's seem easier to work on (and to be honest I haven't had to do anything at all to mine yet)
Also; from an engineering perspective (as well as I guess an aesthetic) I don't like the idea of 9 speeds worth of space being there, and only using one.

    1) The poll didn't include all hub options
    2) I don't know what a "straight sprocket" is

    ...so I didn't vote.

Freewheel hub (a la Surly or ENO) + WI Trials freewheel = poor man's Chris King. Loving mine. But next wheelset may be a SS freehub with 5-6 cog capability, like Hope Trials. 9spd hub offers still more flexibility at the (theoretical at least) expense of wheel strength. Different strokes. There is no clarity on which is best because the differences in performance between these set-ups are small, and tempered by gains in other areas of function. They will all work on a singlespeed and build into a durable wheelset.
