    PinsNeedles' Spankin' new Vulture!

Since he claims he isn't adept at posting pics, Pins sent me some teaser shots of his new Vulture. Hopefully we can get some more images and a ride report soon.

    Is that a KM fork?

    Nice looking Vulture

Derrick does such a nice job on the paint too. That's a 29er, right? How come the chainring guard looks square?

you folks coming up for the ConvergenSS? We'll have a Vulture fest!

It is just the way the machining on truvativ bash rings look from a distance especially with the black on silver.

    Thanks Nat...

These are crappy pics but the bike is beautiful...
It is a 29er ebb with a KM fork for now. Wade has been waiting on the true-temper 450mm fork blades to build me a suspension corrected rigid fork.
The paint is a blue metalic from House of Kolor with a sparkle flake clearcoat, it's sparkley
I just rode it for two hours and it's a blast, better fit and much faster than my 1x1.
I am 6'3" and this is the first bike that has ever fit me so well and the big wheels roll over and hook up on everything !
The parts are temporary, I have a Jones H-Bar on the way and will get some ENO cranks in the future...

    finally

    It's about time.

It looks like a fun bike. I like the SS aesthetic (I actually have one now, though it's a convert.) and the cool sparkly paint and if you squint you can immagine the matching fork. Pretty spifftacular!

    Doesn't that look nice!

    Your new Vulture looks awesome!

My Vulture is back at the aerie getting new paint as we speak. She's three years old this month. Initially I had her powdercoated by a local company that didn't do quite the quality job I'd hoped for. Eventually the frame got a couple deep scratches that went clear through the powdercoat. Since powdercoat doesn't stick to metal as well as paint does, water entered through the gaps in the finish and 'crept' under the powdercoat along the tubes. Not wanting my flyin' baby to suffer a premature death due to rust, I took her back to Vulture last month and asked Derrick work his finishing magic.

I'll pick her up this weekend. I'm not even sure exactly what she'll look like... but I'm eager to find out.

    Will post pics soon.

Sorry about the subtle thread hijack. Now back to you...

I plan to be there Saturday afternoon

I'll bring another bike to ride on Saturday... prolly my full squish. Gonna take the Vulture home and assemble her slow, enjoying the rebuild process like I would a delicious multi-course banquet.

Derrick says he and Wade might be able to get away to ride Horse Ridge or if not then just head out the back door to some pond close to the shop. Why don't you call them and leave your phone number there -- I can call you from World Vulture Headquarters as soon as I arrive on Saturday.

Hopefully I'll have the H-Bar for the ride ! See yah.

JesterRider from Salem ordered a new Vulture a couple months ago and was just told it might be ready to pick up this weekend. If so, he's going to try to join us on Saturday. I'll bring my camera.

'S'all good. Lickin' forehead to meeting you Benders and enjoying a fun afternoon in sunny Central Oregon.

In honor of my first Mtn. bike.

I got a Schwinn 10 speed Varsity in a limited flake blue back in 1976 when I was ten...

Yup, I just packed more mud in there !

Wade was able to squeeze 2.7" of clearance on 29er chainstays. We talked about the big tires coming out this year and I wanted to be ready...The exiwolf's fit with plenty to spare We need to have a little Vulture gathering one of these days, all of them are so unique

I'll come up for a ride. I've got a couple others I could bring with too. I might even slap the Convert on the SPB for the trip.

Or you could just meet me in moab the last week of March. Cause that's where I'll be. If I have anything leftover from Indian Creek.

    Thanks Nat,

The bars are on, but I have to get new cables in the morning the front was too short. Jeff did a great job wrapping them and they got here in three days! The ride yesterday did not let me test the Vulture's high speed single track skill, more of a test of my patience in the mud. Shure was fun though
So, are you gonna ride tomorrow? I don't know what the plans are yet but I'm up for whatever...

Let me know ASAP what time you're going to go. I have a hall pass from 10:30 until maybe 3:00. If you guys are still going to be wrenching after noon, I might have to head to the River Trail instead so I can get my ride in.
