    Parts Bin Full Suspension SS

I picked up this '99 Schwinn Sweetspot a year or so ago and decided to try a full suspension SS.

It's mostly built out of left over or cast off parts from previous upgrades to other bikes. I had to buy a stem, a post, bars and a saddle. I'll have to replace the old SID before long, but it works for now.

It's set up with 34:20 gears and for now, no tensioner is necessary. We'll see how that goes once the chain gets broken in. I suspect it won't be long.

Nice build. Nice and clean with the disc brakes. I've got a similar build with an ibis Szazbo but using vbrakes. I'm using an WI end hub to tension.

Very nice, Chuck! Would look rad with polished aluminum bars and stem!

It would. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for an old Kore stem and maybe a Ritchey bar. There is a really cool used bike/parts shop not far from me. He told me I can email him with a list of "needs" and he'll set them aside for me.

If the Szazbo has the old school hayes 22mm mount, the brakes pop up from time to time. I got this one from my LBS's parts bin for $5.

I got lucky with my gearing. So far the 34:20 seems to be the magic gear. Let's see if the chain stretches, I guess.

What length Kore stem are you looking for?

Just messenger'd you on FB. 70mm with a 17 degree rise for 31.8 mm bar, replicates my position on my hardtail. I'm thinking Kore, Titec, or the like would be period correct and would look better than black.
